This course will provide an introduction to workplace health and safety but should not replace more in-depth hands-on instructional courses including Canada Labour Code Part II; Confined Space Entry Procedures; Rescue Operations; Safety Equipment Maintenance; Trench Safety and Excavation Procedures; Construction Safety; WHMIS Information and Procedures and; Team Safety Group.
At the end of this workshop, students should be able to:
- Apply the Canada Labour Code to work situations
- Identify types of hazards in the workplace
- Know workers and employers rights and responsibilities
- Apply confined space regulation and procedures
- Understand how the WHMIS system works and use it in the workplace
