We are proud yet saddened to announce the retirement of OFNTSC Environmental Scientist, Deneen Brigham; a valuable member of our team at the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC). After 15 years of dedicated service, Deneen is bidding farewell to her role as a Senior Environmental Scientist to enter her much-deserved retirement era.
Deneen's journey with OFNTSC began in September 1998 when she first joined us, bringing her expertise in environmental science to our organization. Although she ventured elsewhere briefly, she returned to OFNTSC in August 2008, and we have been grateful for her presence ever since.
Throughout her remarkable career, Deneen has gained years of experience in the environmental field and the unique challenges faced by First Nations communities across Ontario. As a graduate of Trent University with an Honours Bachelor of Science, joint major in Biology and Environmental Resource Science, she has made significant contributions to various organizations, including the Ojibway 1850 Treaty Council, Environment Canada, and the Ministry of Environment.
Deneen's impact has been felt far and wide, from her role as a Government Advisor and Project Coordinator on environmental impact assessment studies to her work as a Biologist/Technical Writer and Environmental Researcher. Her dedication and expertise have been instrumental in projects ranging from contaminated site assessment and remediation to landfill site planning and aquatic baseline studies.
At OFNTSC, Deneen has been the foundation of our Environmental team, primarily focusing on Solid Waste and Contaminated Site Projects from our Thunder Bay office. Her passion for her work, coupled with her professionalism and unwavering commitment, have left an indelible mark on our organization.
As Deneen embarks on this new chapter of her life, we want to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for her years of service and dedication. Her presence will be missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire us for many years to come.
Deneen's last day with OFNTSC was March 31, 2024. Please join us in celebrating Deneen's career and wishing her a joyful, fulfilling retirement.
