Asset Management Assistant

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is a nonprofit organization that provides technical advisory services, training, and capacity development to First Nations communities in Ontario.  By offering a wide range of specialized services and expertise, OFNTSC helps to enhance the quality of life, promote technical self-sufficiency, and foster economic growth within these communities. 

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Asset Management Assistant to join our team at OFNTSC.  This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can provide administrative and technical support to the operation and maintenance (OM) and asset management programs. Under the guidance of the OM Senior Advisor, the candidate will work closely with team members to ensure smooth program execution.

These tasks must be executed in alignment with the culture and values of OFNTSC while maintaining strict confidentiality. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support asset management processes for community infrastructure and maintenance.
  • Maintain and update the comprehensive First Nation infrastructure database.
  • Aid in researching innovative technologies and methods to enhance asset management practices.
  • Maintain accurate and accessible project documentation.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining asset management reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Assist in drafting funding submissions for First Nation asset management initiatives.
  • Collect and organize data for the Extended Asset Condition Reporting System (E-ACRS).
  • Support data collection of Unaffiliated First Nations Asset Management Plan (AMP).
  • Assist with improving the FN-iRT website UX based on design, trends, and technologies.
  • Contribute to the FN-iRT website to ensure it meets its goals and objectives.
  • Maintain the FN-iRT website content, additions, deletions, and functionality.
  • Provide effective communication and collaboration within asset management programs.
  • Provide support for implementing current strategies and best practices in asset management.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technician or another related field.
  • Proficient in Google Workplace and Microsoft Office Suite, focusing on Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, ensuring clear and effective information sharing.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information System (GIS) software is considered an asset.

Conditions:

  • Reliable, insured vehicle and Valid Class G Ontario driver’s license. 
  • Some out-of-town traveling is required through the province of Ontario
