Clarence Meekis Jr. is Oji-Cree from the remote community of Deer Lake First Nation. Clarence is currently a student in the Civil Engineering Program at Confederation College. Afterwards, he plans to find a rewarding job as an engineering professional, pursuing his interests in structural engineering and working towards a better future for First Nations abroad. In the past, Clarence has worked with his father on different projects and inspections with OFNTSC as a student and intern. Clarence has worked with numerous Tribal Councils in Health and Inventory management, where he provided assistance and COVID resources such as PPE, storage supplies, and health equipment to assist northern communities during the pandemic. Privileged to both live and work in Northern Ontario; travelling, visiting, and collaborating with our northern communities are some of Clarence’s favourite and most memorable experiences."
