AWWAO Annual Conference
The Aboriginal Water and Wastewater Association of Ontario (AWWAO) is pleased to announce that we are hosting our 15th Annual General Assembly and Training Conference in conjunction with the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation and the Ontario Native Fire Fighters Society at the Water Tower Inn, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario during the week of August 23-27, 2009.
This year, the AWWAO is offering the Operators a training and educational event which allows for the Operators to gain a wider variety of experience, an agenda built just for the First Nation Plant Operators.
A major event is the Operations Challenge. The Operations Challenge purpose is to recognize excellence in water and wastewater treatment operations personnel in Laboratory, Process, Safety, Collection Systems and Pump Maintenance. This is done through a friendly competition; the operators have an opportunity to learn new procedures, new techniques and network amongst one another. The nature of the competition is that all teams will compete in all events. Each event is judged and scored separately against established criteria.
