The OFNTSC is announcing two workshops at Days Inn-Orillia, for Landfills Operations and Maintenance Training (two day workshop) plus a Solid Waste Diversion Workshop (one day) taking place from December 13-15, 2016. Both workshops will start at 8:30am and will finish at 4:30pm.
The comprehensive Landfill Operations and Maintenance course designed to incorporate all aspects of managing your Community’s waste effectively, prolonging the lifespan of your site, while minimizing potential environmental impacts. Topics include, an introduction to landfills and contamination, operations and maintenance and best practices, settings goals and diversion opportunities, transfer stations and municipal service agreements.
The Waste Diversion Workshop has been designed for those First Nations with diversion programs in place that want to monitor their diversion rates and introduce improvements to get more of their community diverting. A course outline is below describing the activities of the two workshops. Registration Deadline is December 2nd, 2016.

Hotel Rooms Details
A block of rooms have been reserved under OFNTSC. Participants are to arrange their own accommodations directly with the hotel. OFNTSC will cover expenses for rooms (excluding incidentals), travel and meals. Lunches and snacks will be provided throughout the course. Breakfasts and dinners on your own. Registration is limited to 25 participants and will be closed when full.
