The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) has developed a new solid waste training course for First Nations in Ontario in conjunction with the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). The involvement of SWANA provides participants with industry recognized training and further opportunities for industry certification.
The course has been designed for landfill operators and those responsible for managing landfill operations in First Nations. As such the focus of this course is on natural attenuation landfills, best management practices, and strategies that are realistic given the extremely limited O&M budgets for most First Nations solid waste management programs.
The training will take place over four and a half days, from May 4-8, 2009. The venue for this training will be at the Highwayman Inn & Conference Centre, Orilla, ON. The training course is aimed at Public Works Managers, Landfill Operators and Tribal Council technical staff.
Course costs, travel, accommodations, and meals will be provided by the OFNTSC for all registered participants. If you would like to register for this training, please CLICK HERE. For further information on this training including what topics will be covered during the training please download the OFNTSC Solid Waste Management Training Course document below.
