Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES)

The Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) is inviting your community to participate in the “Recycle Your Electronics” program. The OES provides communities options to dispose of unwanted electronics and electrical equipment. There has never been an easier, more safe or secure way to get rid of your unwanted electronic equipment, at no cost and little effort.

Communities can partner with OES to host a one day electronic collection day, or setup a permanent electronic collection site in your community. OES collection sites and events receive a weight based financial incentive to participate.

  • a permanent collection site receives $150/tonne
  • one day collection events receive $185/tonne

The OES is interested in working with First Nations to recycle and divert electronic waste from community waste disposal sites. Although, logistically more difficult, OES is open to working with either a Tribal Council and/or directly with a FN to develop strategies/plan to remove this material from First Nations located more remotely.
